Valdarno is a wide natural basin where the river Arno runs and is surrounded by Pratomagno hills, facing south along the A1 highway and bounded by the Chianti mountains on the other side.
Valdarno valley lies among Arezzo and Florence provinces.
The Arezzo side stretches as far as the undulating ground where river Ambra runs of Dantesque memory.
Valdarno has various sceneries: alpine and solitary on the high slopes of Pratomagno; rough due to picturesque phenomena of clayey erosion at the base of the ridge, characteristic of the Tuscan hills on southern side towards Valdambra and Siena area.
